My Bluebird
Pastel on Arches. This bird is based on the Norwegian Kjaere bird, which is black and white. Here, one wing is hidden from view, but could be missing - it's unclear. The bird is strong but surrounded by darkness. This is my perception of my first years in Norway, wings clipped, unable to find meaningful work or 'fly' in any sense of the word - except in planes.
